We recommend arriving the evening before departure. Athens’ Koukaki neighbourhood — just below the Acropolis — is one of the best areas for a first night: excellent restaurants, relaxed atmosphere, easy taxi to the marina.

LOCAL EATs
Where to eat
in Santorini
Greek cuisine in the Cyclades is deceptively simple — the quality of the ingredients does the work. Fresh catch, Santorinian fava, capers, tomato fritters, white aubergine and Assyrtiko wine. Fira and Firostefani have excellent options at prices well below the famous cliff-edge restaurants.
